Hi everybody, I'm Dan. 12 years ago I started Acne .org to share a regimen that I discovered with the world. Acne .org is a community-based web site with message boards and a huge supportive community. I do not advertise and there is no cost to the user. But you do not have to order my products to use the site or to follow the regimen. I teach you how to use simple products you can get at your local drugstore as well.
I suffered for years with acne and tried everything. Like many of you have probably experienced as well, nothing worked. So I went to work researching everything I possibly could about acne (I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive) and after years of trial and error I found a treatment routine that cleared me up completely. I was elated to have found something that worked. Shortly thereafter I was inspired a book I read by Deepak Chopra which talked about giving whatever you can to the world and asking for nothing in return. So I did just that. I made a web site called Acne .org and posted the step-by-step regimen that I followed. For the first 6 years I didn't make any products. I just told everyone which products to by at the drugstore and how to use them. That's the thing with The Regimen at Acne .org. It's about the process as much as it is about the products. You absolutely do not have to buy my products to get clear. You can get everything you need over-the-counter at any drugstore. What you have to do, however, no matter where you get your supplies, is follow the step-by-step process of The Regimen. Pretty much everyone who follows it closely gets clear--even many people with severe cases of acne. I post all of the steps on Acne .org. Choosing a Peel:
Glycolic: stimulates collagen growth more effectively than any of the other peels. It's small molecule allows it to slip beneath the epidermis to reach the collagen fibers below and results in 15%-25% thickening over 12 weeks. Glycolic acid generally causes little or no visible peeling.
Lactic: works on the surface of the skin to treat tone, texture, and pigmentation. The Lactic acid molecule works to pull moisture into the cells, and exfoliate surface cells which helps to perfect the skin's surface and restore the skin's natural glow.
Glycolac: With a combination of Glycolic (25%) with Lactic (35%), it provides hydration and tone improvements of the Lactic, with the increased collagen stimulation of the glycolic. It is generally well tolerated because the lactic and glycolic work on different levels or the skin.
Salicylic: a great kertolytic which means it helps loosen the bonds between skin cells to promote exfoliating. It is the only hydroxy acid which is oil soluble which allows it to penetrate into clogged pores. It can be used more frequently than the other peels without must risk for irritation.
BHA+: Hands down the best peel for acne and oily skin. You should expect some visible flaking of the skin 2 days after using the peel. This will help with active acne blemishes as well as old acne marks, and a variety of other skin problems.
HQ+: This peel is best for pigmentation and acne scarring. Similar to our BHA+ peel, with added ingredients which to help to fade pigmentation differences and even skin tone. If you suffer from old acne marks, age spots, or melasma, this peel will be the most effective in helping you.
